SEO), the acronym for "Search Engine Optimization", is a technical procedure applied to a website or webpage in order to achieve better ranking by search engines and allowing the website to be better found by its target audience.

It entails quite a bit of research. The most affective way to do it is to apply that old concept that says “if you want to be successful at something find several people that have achieved success and do what they do”. This means analyzing the top 10 websites for the given Key Word on the top 5 search engines and adjusting the target websites to embrace some of these key features.

This means redoing your Meta Tags, Page Title, Keywords, Page Content and in many instances rewriting the text within the body itself. We tell our customers all the time but it does not always click. A website is designed in part, for your visitors and in part for the Search Engines; because without them no one will find it unless of course they know the URL! On some of the worse scenarios is that it may requite substantial amount of redesign. In cases where the original design incorporated a lot of FLASH Design or JavaScript there is nothing to be done except to remove these attributes. In light of this complexity, a complete industry has evolved and while 90% are legit companies, offering good services at reasonable prices, the other 10% is nothing but a scam. Any SEO Company that offers a guaranteed ranking is full of baloney. SEO is a tedious process of wait and see that can take months to achieve the desired results. Think about it! If these companies can do this, then they all rival Microsoft, Yahoo and Google itself; after all, if they have consistent and guaranteed top ten ranking – Why are they not Billion Dollar empires?

Think of how many products are purchased online everyday. If these websites are in the top 10 listing, in Google for example, that means they would be able to capture 80-90% of the online sales for any given item! But they are not, they just want your money so they can move to the next dupe. Additionally, unethical Marketing, link purchase, back links and other techniques CAN be detected by Google, Yahoo and Bing and result in your website being black listed (Not a good position to be in) – You may as well get a new domain name and start from scratch.
